Ozone-Ex II Ozone Eliminator

Eliminates 99.999% of Ozone from the Exhaust Stream from Corona Treating or other ozone generating processes.

Insures compliance with OSHA and EPA Clean Air Act ozone standards.

Permits direct release of exhaust stream to the atmosphere.

Description

Enercon's catalytic ozone decomposer converts ozone (O3) into Oxygen (O2). The unit consists of a particle filter, prefilter material, and metal oxide catalyst bed that reduces an input ozone level of up to 150 PPM to less than the OSHA limit of 0.1 PPM at the designated flow rate.

Operation

Ozone contaminated air is input at the top of the unit and flows through the particle filter. Here, particle matter and dust is removed to ensure it does not contaminate or clog the catalyst bed. The contaminated air then passes through a prefilter material prior to the catalyst bed for additional air stream filtration. The ozone contaminated air then moves through the bed of metal oxide pellets which converts the ozone (O3) into molecular oxygen (O2). If no other contaminant is present, the exhaust can then be vented into the atmosphere.

Ozone and other toxic gas levels must be monitored on a regular basis to confirm that no health hazards exist and to determine when the catalyst should be reactivated.

CAUTION
It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that there are no other contaminants present in the exhaust stream prior to venting to the atmosphere. The catalyst may become contaminated over a period of time. Exposure of other gases to the catalyst should not make these gases any more toxic. As long as the catalyst is active, there should be no additional health hazard due to ozone in venting the exhaust air into the atmosphere.
