Are two sealing heads better than an “All-in-One?”

When you’re sealing a wide range of containers, an “All-in-One” sealing head can be ideal. With sealing capabilities ranging from 20mm to 120mm, it can be a contract packagers best friend.

And while you can seal virtually any container with an “All-in-One” sealing head, it’s best to consult with Enercon’s application team to determine the solution that’s best for your operation.

Product Manager Jeff LaGrange says, “Packagers need to understand that the “All-in-One” sealing head is quite powerful, but Enercon sealing heads that are designed for specific cap configurations will outperform it.”

Take for example a sports cap or child resistant cap. You can successfully seal either style closure with an “All-in-One” sealing head, but you can seal it at higher line speeds with a lower power requirement when using an Enercon tunnel sealing head.

Changeover

One of the benefits of the “All-in-One” sealing head is quick changeover. The sealing head has four different positions that allow for sealing a wide range of containers.

By following the directions on the sealing head, users can quickly pivot the sealing head into position to seal containers with larger or smaller caps.

Changeover is also kept to a minimum for those applications that require the improved performance of Enercon’s specialty sealing heads. Switching from one type of sealing head to another is aided by “plug and seal” quick connections.

Regardless of the type of sealing head you use, a smooth changeover is also dependent on your ability to set-up a documented operating window for each of your applications.
