Charter Next Generation Performance Films Invests in W&H Blown Film line with Enercon Corona Treaters
CNG (Charter Next Generation) is a leading producer of high performance films for a variety of flexible packaging applications. Their capabilities include custom monolayer, coextruded and barrier films.
CNG’s installation of a blown film line in their Milton, Wisconsin facility is testament to their commitment to leveraging new technology to produce superior products for their customers. The Windmoeller & Hoelscher 3 – Layer Varex Coex blown film line offers the company’s latest die design, gauge control, blending, and winding technologies.
The line is outfitted with several Enercon covered roll corona treaters. These systems feature segmented electrodes which enable CNG to vary the width of treatment prior to and after slitting. Treatment enables NEX film customers to convert the film into finished products.
The Enercon treaters are integrated with the W&H line which makes operation quite simple. CNG’s Continuous Improvement Manager Bryon Task says, “As our first experience with Enercon, we were very pleased with their willingness to work with CNG and W&H, to make modifications to the set up that allowed us to treat both sides of the web to meet any corona treatment configuration our customers require.”
